Southlake, Tex. (PRWeb) March 7, 2007 -- The Southlake Chamber of Commerce named Michael Burns "2006 Director of the Year." Burns, co-founder of i5 web works, an Internet consulting firm with offices in Southlake, was elected to the board last year.
"Michael has been a highly respected member of the Southlake business community for some time," chamber President Giovanna Phillips, said. "We were thrilled to have him take a leadership role with the Chamber. He's worked tirelessly to strengthen our organization by continuously assuming increasing responsibilities."
Phillips said Burns has represented the Southlake Chamber at numerous events, including luncheons, ribbon cuttings and new member orientations, in addition to participating in the 2006-2007 Leadership Southlake program.
"Michael's commitment goes beyond Chamber of Commerce activities, as he has donated countless hours of his time and professional services to other community organizations, as well," Phillips said. This is the second consecutive year Burns has been recognized by the Southlake Chamber of Commerce. His business last year was named Small Business of the Year. His contributions to the community include design and hosting of the award-winning Southlake Chamber of Commerce membership Website.
