eImagine Technology Group Honored as One of the 2009 "Indiana Companies to Watch"
Indianapolis, Indiana (PRWEB) July 16, 2009 -- eImagine Technology Group, an Indianapolis-based information technology ("IT") service provider, today announced that it has been recognized as one of the 2009 "Indiana Companies to Watch".
The Indiana Companies to Watch award is presented by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, its Small Business Development Center network, Purdue University and the Edward Lowe Foundation. It celebrates the state's privately held second-stage companies, typically those businesses that are past the startup phase, are considered to be established, and face issues of growth, not survival. This year, more than 500 Indiana companies, representing 59 Indiana counties, were nominated for the award.
"We are honored to be a part of this select group of Indiana companies" said Joel Russell, eImagine's founder and president. "Second-stage businesses are an important demographic in Indiana and we are proud of the contributions we've made to the economy as part of this group. Our commitment to continuous innovation, making an impact on our communities and fostering employees' personal and professional growth have been our guiding principles since we opened our doors almost eleven years ago. We believe that upholding these principles will enable us to continue giving back to the state for years to come."
eImagine has recently received additional recognition for its success and its contributions to Indiana's economy. In June, the company was named the eighth fastest-growing private company in the Indianapolis area, according to the Indianapolis Business Journal (IBJ). This ranking was based on the company's explosive revenue growth of 218 percent between 2006 and 2008. And, eImagine was also named one of the top IT businesses in the state as a 2009 TechPoint Mira Awards finalist. Since its inception in 1998, eImagine has experienced average annual organic growth of 61 percent.
The impact of second-stage companies on Indiana's economy is immense. During 2005-2007, Indiana's resident companies averaged more than 32,000 second-stage establishments according to YourEconomy.org, an online resource of the Edward Lowe Foundation. Those second-stage companies employed more than 760,000 workers. Furthermore, from 1993 to 2007 only 15 percent of Indiana's resident establishments were in the second-stage category, however, they generated nearly 41 percent of net new jobs.
eImagine will be one of fifty Indiana companies honored during the Indiana Companies to Watch awards program which will be held on Aug. 27 in Indianapolis.

It celebrates the state's privately held second-stage companies, typically those businesses that are past the startup phase, are considered to be established, and face issues of growth, not survival. This program would not be possible without the generous support of the following: New Paradigm Sponsor: Barnes & Thornburg LLP. Visionary Sponsors: Katz, Sapper & Miller; KeyBank; Ivy Tech Community College; and Premier Capital Corporation. The Companies to Watch awards program is unique because of its focus on second-stage companies.
